Job Brief
The Contact Lens Cutter is responsible for cutting, grinding, and polishing high-quality eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other precision optical elements. Responsibilities
- Operate precision lens cutting, grinding, and polishing machines to produce high-quality contact lenses and optical elements.
- Assemble and mount lenses into frames, ensuring proper alignment and fit for optimal vision correction.
- Inspect finished lenses for quality assurance and adherence to specifications using optical measuring tools.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and precision in lens production.
- Collaborate with optical technicians to troubleshoot and resolve any production issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace to prevent contamination and damage to optical materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in optical technology and techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in optical technology or lens fabrication is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the optical industry, particularly in lens cutting and polishing.
- Familiarity with optical equipment such as precision lens polishers, grinders, and centerer-edgers.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Basic understanding of optical principles and materials used in contact lens production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
