Job Brief
As a Concrete Pump Operator, you will be responsible for tending, controlling, and operating power-driven, stationary, or portable pumps and manifold systems to efficiently transfer concrete and other materials to various construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in pumping operations, strong technical skills, and a solid understanding of safety protocols. Your expertise in maneuvering equipment and ensuring optimal flow will be critical in supporting construction projects and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Operate and control concrete pumps to transfer materials efficiently from delivery trucks to construction sites.
- Monitor and adjust pumps and equipment settings to maintain optimal flow and pressure.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe, working condition.
- Collaborate with crew members to plan and execute pumping operations effectively.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and maintenance protocols to minimize workplace hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on pumping equipment to prevent downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including pump hours and material quantities.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced operators and apprentices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in construction or hydraulics is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Concrete Pump Operator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of concrete pumping equipment and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and, preferably, a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Certification in concrete pumping operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle manual tasks associated with the role.
