Job Brief

As a Computed Axial Tomography (CAT) Technologist, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic imaging field by performing CAT scans and x-rays, as well as administering nonradioactive contrast materials to patients. You will collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and high-quality imaging results. Responsibilities

  • Perform computed axial tomography (CAT) scans and x-ray imaging according to established protocols.
  • Administer nonradioactive contrast materials to enhance imaging results while ensuring patient safety.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
  • Operate CAT scan equipment and ensure the maintenance of imaging devices for optimal performance.
  • Review and analyze images for quality control, identifying any technical or procedural issues.
  • Document patient information and imaging results accurately in healthcare records.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and patient care plans.
  • Educate patients about the imaging process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) from a recognized body.
  • Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Proficient in operating CAT scan equipment and understanding imaging techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care and safety protocols in diagnostic imaging.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills for managing patient records and imaging software.
