Job Brief
As a Composition Floor Layer, you will apply blocks, strips, or sheets of various materials including shock-absorbing and sound-deadening coverings to floors, ensuring a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut materials to fit specific floor areas accurately.
- Install shock-absorbing and sound-deadening flooring systems according to specifications.
- Ensure surface preparation is completed, including cleaning and leveling floors.
- Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards during installation.
- Evaluate job sites to determine the best installation methods and materials.
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to understand project requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any client concerns post-installation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a flooring installer or composition floor layer.
- Knowledge of various flooring materials and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with safety practices and regulations in the flooring industry.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
