Job Brief
The Community Health Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing health education programs that empower individuals, families, and communities to adopt and sustain healthy lifestyles. This role requires experience in community health assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation, along with strong analytical skills to identify community health needs through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively connect health systems, providers, and patients while promoting policy changes and healthy environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct community health assessments to identify needs and gaps in health education.
- Design, implement, and evaluate health education programs tailored to community demographics.
- Develop educational materials and resources to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurers, and community organizations to enhance program outreach.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate the community on health topics.
- Monitor and analyze program outcomes to ensure effectiveness and compliance with health standards.
- Administer budgets and allocate resources for health education initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for health education inquiries and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in community health education or program coordination.
- Strong understanding of health promotion theories and practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and assess community health needs effectively.
- Proficient in using health education software and tools.
- Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal resource management for educational programs.
- Certification in Health Education Specialist (CHES) or similar credential is a plus.
