Job Brief
As a Community Health Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellness within the community by empowering individuals to adopt healthy behaviors. You will serve as an advocate for the health needs of community residents, assisting them in effectively communicating with healthcare providers and social service agencies. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community health programs that promote healthy lifestyles and behaviors.
- Advocate for the health needs of individuals by facilitating communication with healthcare providers.
- Conduct health-related screenings, including blood pressure, glaucoma, and hearing assessments.
- Collect and analyze data to identify community health needs and inform program development.
- Educate community members on preventive health practices and available resources.
- Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance community health initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs and services.
- Assist in the development of outreach strategies to engage diverse populations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, or a related field.
- Experience in community outreach, health education, or similar roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse community members.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of local health resources and service providers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
