Job Brief

As a Communicable Disease Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in investigating and analyzing the determinants and distribution of communicable diseases. This position requires a strong understanding of epidemiology, public health practices, and data analysis to develop effective strategies for disease prevention and control. Candidates should possess a master’s degree in public health or a related field and demonstrate proficiency in research methodologies, data interpretation, and community health initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct epidemiological investigations to identify the sources and transmission pathways of communicable diseases.
  • Analyze data to assess the prevalence, incidence, and impact of diseases on various populations.
  • Develop and implement public health interventions aimed at preventing and controlling outbreaks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, governmental agencies, and community organizations to enhance disease surveillance and reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on disease trends, findings, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Educate the public and healthcare professionals about disease prevention strategies and health promotion.
  • Stay updated on emerging infectious diseases and best practices in public health policy.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance community awareness and response to communicable diseases.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communicable disease control, epidemiology, or public health.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R).
  • Proficiency in data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant public health laws and regulations.
  • Certification in Public Health (CPH) or Epidemiology (e.g., CSTE) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
