Job Brief
As a Commercial Crabber, you will be responsible for the hunting, trapping, and gathering of crabs and other aquatic species. Responsibilities
- Utilize nets, traps, and other fishing gear to catch crabs and other aquatic species.
- Conduct regular inspections of traps and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Load and unload catches onto vessels, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Monitor environmental conditions and adjust fishing techniques accordingly.
- Maintain equipment and tools, performing routine repairs as needed.
- Record and report daily catches and operational activities for compliance and tracking.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize fishing strategies and improve efficiency.
- Adhere to local and federal regulations regarding fishing practices and species conservation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in commercial fishing preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial crab fishing or aquaculture operations.
