Job Brief

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments from metal. This role requires expertise in programming and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment, as well as knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, and machining procedures. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in fabrication, modification, and repair of mechanical instruments, ensuring high-quality production standards and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines and related equipment to produce high-precision components.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining specifications.
  • Program CNC machines with appropriate software for optimal performance and productivity.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machining equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and enhance product quality.
  • Utilize knowledge of metal properties and machining procedures to optimize production techniques.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation, including G-code and M-code.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and other manufacturing technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
