Job Brief

As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled tools and machines to manufacture precision parts and components from various materials including metal, plastic, wood, and stone. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Ideal candidates should have a background in machining, along with experience in setting up and maintaining CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality output.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to execute machining processes according to specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate machines, including loading raw materials and selecting appropriate tools.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining sequences.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure longevity and performance.
  • Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of machine operations and outputs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in machining or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and tooling techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and digital measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a machining environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
