Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, such as electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS), to assess neuromuscular function.
  • Interpret laboratory results, including muscle biopsies and genetic testing, to diagnose conditions such as myopathies and neuropathies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals, including neurologists and rehabilitation specialists.
  • Educate patients and families about neuromuscular conditions, treatment options, and management strategies.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in neuromuscular pathology to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree with completed residency in Neurology or Pathology.
  • Board certification in Neuromuscular Medicine or Pathology.
  • Proven experience in clinical settings, particularly in neuromuscular pathology.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic procedures and techniques specific to neuromuscular disorders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
