Job Brief
The Civil Engineering Technologist plays a crucial role in applying engineering principles to design, plan, and oversee the construction and maintenance of various structures and facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and water systems.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to gather data for project development.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation to support design and construction processes.
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS for technical drawings and modeling.
- Collaborate with project engineers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
- Monitor construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Assist in the management of project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and material properties.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) is preferred.
- Familiarity with local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
