Job Brief
The Civil Engineering Technician supports civil engineering projects by applying theoretical knowledge and principles to assist in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and drafting of civil engineering projects using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess project requirements and conditions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering staff on project planning and execution.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Analyze data and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications.
- Support project management efforts through effective communication and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience with surveying techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
