Job Brief

The Chromium Plater is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending plating machines to coat metal or plastic products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metals. This role requires expertise in immersing products in molten metal or electrolytic solutions to enhance surface protection and aesthetics. Ideal candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and prior experience in plating processes or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust plating machines to ensure optimal operation and product quality.
  • Prepare and maintain electrolytic solutions and molten metal baths for effective plating.
  • Monitor plating processes to achieve desired thickness and ensure uniform coating.
  • Inspect finished products for adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including chemical usage and machine performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plating equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Comply with safety regulations and best practices in handling hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in plating or metal finishing is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a plating operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with various metal plating techniques and chemical properties.
  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot plating machinery.
