Job Brief
The Chip Bin Conveyor Tender is responsible for controlling and tending to conveyors or conveyor systems that efficiently transport materials and products to various locations, such as stockpiles, processing stations, departments, or vehicles. This role requires a solid understanding of conveyor operation, speed regulation, and routing of materials. Ideal candidates will have experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor conveyor systems to ensure efficient movement of materials and products.
- Adjust conveyor speed and routing to optimize material flow based on operational requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on conveyor equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate seamless material handling and processing.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to conveyor operations to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of conveyor operation metrics and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train new team members on conveyor operations and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in conveyor systems are a plus.
- Proven experience in operating conveyors or similar material handling equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills for monitoring and record-keeping purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
