Job Brief
As a Chimney Sweep, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of residential and commercial chimneys. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of chimney systems to identify blockages, structural issues, and safety hazards.
- Clean and maintain chimneys, flues, and vents using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance based on inspection findings.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Educate clients on proper chimney care and maintenance practices.
- Document service performed and maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs.
- Manage and schedule service appointments efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, safety standards, and new cleaning technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chimney Sweep or in a related field.
- Knowledge of chimney systems, drafting principles, and ventilation codes.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., National Fireplace Institute (NFI) certification) preferred.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in chimney cleaning and repair.
