Job Brief

As a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients with disabling conditions. In this position, you will design, measure, fit, and adapt orthopedic braces and prostheses, including limbs and facial components. Responsibilities

  • Design and fabricate custom prosthetic and orthotic devices based on patient assessments.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine patient needs and functional capabilities.
  • Measure and fit orthopedic braces, prostheses, and related appliances accurately to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and physical therapists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education regarding the use and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to devices for improved comfort and performance.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay current with advancements in prosthetics and orthotics technology and techniques.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in designing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and material science relevant to prosthetics and orthotics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficient in using CAD software and other technology tools in the design process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in device customization and adjustments.
