Job Brief
The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) is responsible for coordinating all aspects of group meetings, events, and conventions. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience in event planning, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The CMP will collaborate with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure seamless execution of events, making it essential to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and conventions, including venue selection, catering, and transportation.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring costs align with financial goals.
- Establish timelines and project milestones to track progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment on event objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate event performance, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
- Oversee registration processes and provide on-site support during events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all events.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance event experiences.
Requirements
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is required.
- 5+ years of experience in event planning or management.
- Proficient in event management software and tools.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
