As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will perform essential administrative and clinical tasks in a healthcare setting under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the calendar for the healthcare provider.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient files.
- Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician during procedures.
- Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory testing as directed.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a physician.
- Process billing and coding for insurance reimbursements accurately.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment effectively.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification may be required.
- Attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality.
