Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to join our team. The ideal candidate will evaluate and analyze work environments to develop comprehensive programs and procedures aimed at controlling, eliminating, and preventing health risks associated with chemical, physical, biological agents, and ergonomic factors. The Certified Industrial Hygienist will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe workplace. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of workplace environments to identify potential health hazards.
- Develop, implement, and manage industrial hygiene programs to mitigate risks.
- Perform sampling and analysis of hazardous materials and substances.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Provide recommendations for engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Educate employees and management on workplace safety practices and health regulations.
- Document findings and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in industrial hygiene.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety, or a related field.
- Current certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial hygiene or related field.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and exposure assessment techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
