Job Brief

The Carpenter Helper supports skilled carpenters in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials. This entry-level role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions. The ideal candidate will assist with various tasks, including preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, and maintaining cleanliness in the work environment. Relevant experience in construction or carpentry is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist carpenters with the installation and repair of structures, frameworks, and fixtures.
  • Load and unload materials and tools, ensuring proper handling and organization.
  • Provide support in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials as directed.
  • Clean and prepare job sites, including removing debris and maintaining equipment.
  • Hold and secure materials in place during construction activities.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising carpenter.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and construction techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is a plus.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and tools.
  • Familiarity with safety guidelines and best practices in construction.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from skilled carpenters.
  • Previous experience in construction or related fields is advantageous.
