Responsibilities
- Manually load and unload cargo from trucks, ships, or aircraft according to established safety standards.
- Organize and store freight efficiently in designated areas to maintain accessibility.
- Inspect cargo for damage or discrepancies and report findings to supervisors.
- Assist in inventory management by accurately tracking and documenting received and dispatched materials.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet tight deadlines.
- Operate manual handling equipment, such as dollies and forklifts, as needed (if certified).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in cargo handling or a related field is beneficial.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more).
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a warehouse or transportation setting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and tracking systems are a plus.
- Certifications in material handling or safety training are an advantage.
