Job Brief
As a Carburizing Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining heating equipment to treat metal and plastic objects through processes such as carburizing, tempering, and hardening. This role requires hands-on experience with heat-treating furnaces and a solid understanding of heat treatment principles. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate carburizing furnaces to specified temperature and time settings.
- Monitor and adjust heating equipment parameters to ensure optimal heat treatment results.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on heating equipment to prevent downtime.
- Inspect and verify the quality of metal and plastic objects before and after heat treatment.
- Maintain accurate records of heat treatment processes, temperatures, and cycle times.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to promote workplace safety.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to optimize heat treatment processes.
- Train and mentor junior operators on best practices and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metallurgy or related field preferred.
- Proven experience operating heat-treating furnaces, specifically carburizing equipment.
- Strong understanding of heat treatment processes and metallurgy principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
