Job Brief
As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in facilitating recreational activities for children and adolescents in a camp setting. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of campers.
- Supervise and monitor campers to ensure safety and adherence to camp rules.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation among participants through group activities.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe camp environment, including facilities and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Provide guidance and support to campers in developing new skills and interests.
- Evaluate and adapt programs based on camper feedback and participation levels.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, recreation, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience as a camp counselor or in a recreational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to camp start.
- Passion for working with children and promoting a positive camp experience.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of various recreational activities and programming techniques.
