Job Brief
As a Cafe Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced cafe environment. Your primary duties will include taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in food service, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and beverages to customers at the counter or directly at tables.
- Prepare and present food items, including beverages and light snacks, according to café standards.
- Process customer payments using cash registers and ensure accurate change is given.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including tables, counters, and service areas.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Assist in restocking supplies and inventory management as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a server or in a food and beverage role strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
