Job Brief

The Bulk Mail Technician plays a critical role in the efficient processing of mail within a United States Postal Service (USPS) post office. This position involves a variety of tasks, including receiving letters and parcels, selling postage and revenue stamps, and ensuring proper mail handling. Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute letters and parcels efficiently and accurately.
  • Sell postage and revenue stamps, postal cards, and stamped envelopes to customers.
  • Process money orders and ensure compliance with postal regulations.
  • Organize and place mail into designated pigeonholes or bags for delivery.
  • Examine mail for correct postage and handle discrepancies as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace that adheres to safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking of postal supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or postal services is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a postal service or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large volumes of mail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate postal equipment and software effectively.
