Job Brief
The Bulk Mail Clerk is responsible for efficiently processing and managing large volumes of mail within a United States Postal Service (USPS) facility. This role involves receiving, sorting, and delivering letters and parcels, as well as providing customer service by selling postage and money orders. Responsibilities
- Receive and sort incoming letters and parcels for distribution.
- Sell postage, revenue stamps, postal cards, and stamped envelopes to customers.
- Process and fill out money orders and other postal transactions accurately.
- Place mail in appropriate pigeon holes or bags for delivery routes.
- Examine mail for correct postage and compliance with postal regulations.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.
- Perform additional clerical duties as required to support postal operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional postal or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions.
- Basic computer skills for processing transactions and maintaining records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with USPS regulations and procedures is a plus.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy packages as required.
