Job Brief

As a Building Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the building is in optimal condition. Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
  • Shampoo carpets and rugs to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
  • Wash walls, windows, and glass surfaces to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Remove rubbish and dispose of waste in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor and tend to furnace and boiler systems as required.
  • Conduct routine maintenance activities and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Notify management of any repairs or maintenance needed to building systems.
  • Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and entryways to ensure safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional custodial training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a custodian or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
