Job Brief
As a Brick Setter, you will play a critical role in the construction and repair of various structures by laying and binding building materials such as brick, concrete block, and glass block. Your expertise will be essential in constructing walls, partitions, arches, and other architectural elements. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in masonry construction, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Lay and bind bricks and other building materials using mortar and other substances.
- Construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, and sewers according to specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Mix and apply mortar or other bonding agents to secure bricks and blocks in place.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to coordinate projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Brick Setter or in a similar masonry role.
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in construction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in masonry is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
