Job Brief
As a Brace Maker, you will be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing medical supportive devices such as braces, orthotics, prosthetic devices, joints, and arch supports. Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and fit custom braces and orthotic devices based on individual patient assessments.
- Maintain and repair existing braces and prosthetic devices, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate patient needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Utilize advanced techniques in molding, casting, and fitting to create high-quality supportive devices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in the production of medical appliances.
- Document all fabrication and repair processes accurately for quality assurance and patient records.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in orthotic and prosthetic technologies and materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in orthotics and prosthetics preferred.
- Proven experience as a Brace Maker or in a similar role within the medical equipment field.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and materials used in orthotic and prosthetic devices.
- Skilled in the use of fabrication tools and machinery specific to the industry.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers and patients.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
