Job Brief
The Bowling Alley Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of bowling alley equipment and systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a strong background in mechanical systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with bowling lane machinery, pinsetter systems, and scorekeeping devices, along with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on bowling alley equipment, including pinsetters, ball return systems, and lane conditioning machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including motors, belts, and electronic controls.
- Install new equipment and upgrade existing systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Collaborate with management to develop maintenance schedules and budgets.
- Train staff on the proper use and maintenance of bowling equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical or electrical systems is preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a bowling or entertainment facility.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment as needed.
