Job Brief
As a Bondactor Machine Operator, you will be responsible for building and repairing vital industrial equipment including furnaces, kilns, cupolas, boilers, converters, ladles, soaking pits, and ovens using refractory materials. This role requires hands-on experience with machinery operations, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of safety protocols within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain bondactor machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Build and repair industrial equipment using refractory materials according to technical specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on furnaces, kilns, and related equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Document maintenance activities and report any issues to management for prompt resolution.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while operating machinery.
- Train and mentor junior operators on best practices and safety measures.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery for precise fabrication and assembly tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machinery operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of refractory materials and their applications in equipment construction.
- Familiarity with machinery maintenance best practices and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
