Job Brief
The Boiler Room Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of stationary engines, boilers, and other mechanical equipment essential for providing utilities in buildings or industrial processes. This role requires a skilled professional with experience in managing steam engines, generators, motors, turbines, and steam boilers. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery, identifying and addressing any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Adjust controls to regulate the flow of steam or other utilities to maintain desired pressure and temperature levels.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to alarms and operational issues, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, performing tests and safety checks as required.
- Assist in training new staff on operating procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Boiler Room Operator or in a similar role within the industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of boiler operations, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics related to boiler systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergencies as needed.
