Job Brief

As a Blockmason, you will be responsible for laying and binding various building materials such as brick, concrete block, cinder block, and glass block using mortar and other bonding substances. Your expertise will be crucial in constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in masonry, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Lay and bind building materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, and arches.
  • Utilize mortar and other substances to ensure durability and stability in masonry work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute projects accurately.
  • Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions for various construction tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all projects.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on masonry structures as required.
  • Maintain an organized work environment and manage tools and materials effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Blockmason or in a similar masonry role.
  • Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in masonry work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in masonry preferred.
  • Certification in masonry or relevant trade is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
