Job Brief
The Blast Hole Driller is responsible for operating advanced drilling equipment, including rotary, churn, and pneumatic drills, to access subsurface water, salt deposits, and mineral samples. Responsibilities
- Operate various types of drilling machinery to perform blast hole drilling tasks.
- Conduct mineral exploration and soil testing to collect core samples.
- Drill precise holes for the implementation of explosives in mining and construction projects.
- Monitor drilling operations and equipment performance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Maintain equipment and perform routine inspections to adhere to safety standards.
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to determine drilling locations and depths.
- Document drilling activities and prepare reports on findings and operational performance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in drilling operations preferred.
- Proven experience as a Blast Hole Driller or similar role in the mining or construction industry.
- Familiarity with rotary, churn, and pneumatic drilling techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in drilling operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geological maps.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
