Job Brief
The Bindery Cutter Operator is responsible for operating cutting machines to trim printed materials, ensuring high-quality production of books and publications. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cutting machines to accurately trim printed materials
- Set up and adjust bindery equipment such as guillotines and paper cutters
- Inspect finished products for quality and precision, making adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with bindery team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules
- Perform preventative maintenance on cutting and binding machines to minimize downtime
- Follow safety protocols and quality control measures to maintain a safe work environment
- Document production metrics and report any issues to management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing or bindery operations preferred
- Proven experience as a Bindery Cutter Operator or similar role in the printing industry
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Knowledge of various cutting techniques and bindery processes
- Familiarity with safety regulations in a manufacturing or printing environment
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
