Job Brief
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide direct care and support to individuals suffering from mental or emotional conditions. Your responsibilities include monitoring patients’ physical and emotional well-being, implementing treatment plans as directed by healthcare professionals, and assisting with personal hygiene and rehabilitation activities. Responsibilities
- Monitor and document patients’ physical and emotional states, reporting any changes to medical staff.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by physicians and mental health professionals.
- Provide support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming.
- Administer prescribed medications, both oral and injectable, as per established protocols.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote emotional and physical well-being.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with healthcare professionals to review patient progress.
- Document patient interactions and report any incidents or concerns to supervisory staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in behavioral health or mental health preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare or mental health setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Basic knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
