Job Brief
As a Beach Lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring recreational areas, ensuring the safety of all beachgoers, and providing immediate assistance in emergencies. You will maintain a vigilant watch over the water and surrounding areas, enforce safety regulations, and deliver first aid when necessary. Responsibilities
- Monitor swimming areas to ensure the safety of beachgoers and prevent accidents.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies, providing first aid and rescue assistance as needed.
- Enforce beach rules and regulations to promote a safe environment.
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment such as lifeguard towers, rescue boards, and flotation devices.
- Educate beach visitors on water safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other lifeguards and emergency services during rescue operations.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and rescues.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development to stay current with lifeguarding techniques and safety practices.
Requirements
- Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA).
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Strong swimming abilities and physical fitness level, with the ability to swim long distances.
- Excellent observational skills and the ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with the public.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience in a lifeguard role is preferred but not required.
