Job Brief
As a Baseball Scout, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential talent for baseball teams, focusing on both amateur and professional levels. Your primary duties will include assessing players’ skills, strengths, and weaknesses, and providing detailed reports to coaching staff and management. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of baseball fundamentals, and excellent communication abilities. Prior experience in scouting or coaching is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate athletes’ skills and performance during games and practices.
- Conduct in-depth assessments of players’ strengths and weaknesses for recruitment purposes.
- Analyze player statistics and game footage to provide insights to coaching staff.
- Develop scouting reports and recommendations based on player evaluations.
- Attend games, tournaments, and showcases to observe potential recruits.
- Collaborate with coaches and management to discuss scouting findings and recruitment strategies.
- Maintain an extensive network of contacts within the baseball community to stay informed about emerging talent.
Requirements
- Proven experience in baseball scouting, coaching, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of baseball gameplay, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills for evaluating player performance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, coaches, and management.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and performance tracking software.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for games and tournaments.
- Certifications in coaching or sports management are a plus.
