Job Brief
The Banquet Set Up Person is responsible for preparing venues for food service events, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in banquet service or related hospitality roles, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate food service by efficiently setting up tables, chairs, and linens according to event specifications.
- Clean tables and remove dirty dishes promptly to maintain a tidy dining environment.
- Replace soiled table linens and replenish supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes.
- Supply service bars with food items and assist in the presentation of beverages.
- Serve items such as water, condiments, and coffee to patrons in a courteous manner.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Assist in post-event clean-up and reorganization of the venue.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.
Requirements
- Prior experience in banquet service, catering, or hospitality settings preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment or furniture as needed.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
