Job Brief

  • Conduct tests on various physical evidence, such as fibers, hair, and tissue, to determine their relevance to ongoing investigations.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, methodologies, and conclusions to support law enforcement efforts.
  • Testify as an expert witness in court regarding ballistic evidence and forensic techniques.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, legal teams, and other forensic specialists to provide comprehensive analytical support.
  • Stay updated on advancements in forensic technology and methodologies to enhance analysis accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience in ballistic analysis, forensic laboratories, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of forensic techniques, ballistics, and evidence collection procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures and court testimony related to forensic evidence.
  • Certification from a recognized forensic professional organization is a plus.
