Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain catapults and arresting gear to support aircraft launch and recovery missions.
  • Install and maintain visual landing aids to enhance aircraft landing precision.
  • Conduct tests and perform maintenance on launch and recovery equipment using both electric and mechanical test equipment.
  • Activate and manage airfield arresting systems during emergency landing situations.
  • Direct aircraft launch and recovery operations using hand or light signals to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate logs of airplane launches, recoveries, and equipment maintenance to support operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure a secure working environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in aviation maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience operating and maintaining aircraft launch and recovery equipment.
  • Proficient in using electric and mechanical test equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems related to aviation operations.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication skills for directing aircraft operations and collaborating with team members.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain relevant certifications as required by military or aviation standards.
