Job Brief
The Architectural Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed architectural and structural drawings for various building projects. This role requires proficiency in drafting software, a solid understanding of building materials, engineering practices, and the ability to interpret complex technical requirements. Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
- Draft and modify structural drawings for civil engineering projects, such as bridges and highways.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to incorporate design changes and updates.
- Utilize CAD software and other drafting tools to create precise and accurate drawings.
- Review and analyze building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of project specifications and technical documentation.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy access and reference.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design concepts and project progress.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in architectural drafting or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other design tools.
- Strong knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, practices, and materials.
- Experience with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Prior experience in architectural or civil engineering drafting is preferred.
