Job Brief
The Annealing Furnace Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of heating equipment, including heat-treating furnaces, induction machines, and vacuum equipment. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate heating equipment for annealing, tempering, and hardening processes.
- Monitor furnace temperatures and make adjustments to maintain specified heating profiles.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety standards.
- Prepare materials for processing by cleaning and positioning them correctly within the furnace.
- Document production data, including temperatures, times, and batch quality for traceability.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Train new operators on equipment operation and safety practices as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in metallurgy or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an annealing furnace operator or in a similar role within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of heat treatment processes and metallurgical principles.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in furnace operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and specifications.
