Job Brief
As an Animal Sitter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals. Your primary duties will include feeding, exercising, grooming, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in your care. This role requires a compassionate individual with experience in animal handling and a strong commitment to animal welfare. Ideal candidates should possess excellent observational skills and the ability to follow care protocols closely.
Responsibilities
- Feed and provide fresh water to pets according to specific dietary requirements.
- Groom, bathe, and maintain cleanliness of animals to promote hygiene and health.
- Exercise and engage with pets to ensure physical activity and mental stimulation.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to owners or supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of feedings, treatments, and any special needs for each animal.
- Clean, disinfect, and repair animal enclosures, cages, or tanks as needed.
- Administer medication and treatments under the guidance of pet owners or veterinarians.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all animals in your care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an animal sitter, pet caregiver, or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal care techniques, behavior, and handling.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress or illness in animals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pet owners.
- Basic first aid knowledge for pets is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to client locations.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
