Job Brief

The Animal Nutritionist is responsible for conducting advanced research in the genetics, nutrition, reproduction, growth, and development of domestic farm animals. This role involves analyzing nutritional requirements, developing dietary plans, and collaborating with veterinarians and farmers to optimize animal health and productivity. A successful candidate will have experience in animal science or nutrition, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of animal husbandry practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research on animal genetics and nutritional needs to improve livestock health and performance.
  • Develop and implement customized feeding programs based on species-specific dietary requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate the nutritional content of various feed ingredients and supplements.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and agricultural professionals to address animal health issues related to nutrition.
  • Monitor and assess the growth and development of livestock to ensure optimal nutrition and welfare.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in animal nutrition and feed formulation.
  • Provide educational resources and training for farmers on effective feeding strategies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on research findings and recommendations for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Nutrition, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in animal nutrition, livestock management, or related research roles.
  • Strong knowledge of animal feed formulation, nutritional analysis, and dietary supplements.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines in animal nutrition.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Certification from a recognized animal nutrition professional organization is a plus.
