Job Brief
The Altitude Chamber Technician is responsible for the operation, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of integrated computer and communications systems, simulators, and data acquisition instruments utilized in the testing and evaluation of air and space vehicles. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret test data effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace technology, systems operations, and a passion for advancing air and space exploration.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain altitude chamber systems and associated equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety protocols are followed.
- Install and configure integrated computer and communications systems related to air and space vehicle testing.
- Adjust and calibrate test equipment to meet operational specifications.
- Record, analyze, and interpret data from tests to evaluate vehicle performance under various altitude conditions.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to design and implement testing procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on altitude simulation equipment.
- Document all operational procedures and maintenance activities for compliance and performance tracking.
- Stay current with industry advancements and best practices in altitude testing technology.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a technician in aerospace, automotive, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of computer systems, data acquisition, and measurement instruments.
- Familiarity with altitude simulation technologies and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret complex technical data and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Certifications related to aerospace technology or technician roles are a plus.
