Job Brief
As an Aircraft Seat Upholsterer, you will be responsible for making, repairing, and replacing upholstery for aircraft seating and related components. This critical role requires expertise in fabric selection, cutting, sewing, and finishing techniques to ensure comfort, safety, and aesthetic appeal in aviation interiors. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and sew upholstery materials for aircraft seats to meet precise specifications.
- Inspect and assess existing upholstery for wear and damage, determining necessary repairs or replacements.
- Select appropriate materials, fabrics, and cushioning to enhance seat comfort and durability.
- Utilize industrial sewing machines and upholstery tools to fabricate and finish seat covers.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure upholstery aligns with aircraft aesthetics and safety standards.
- Adhere to quality control measures and maintain high standards of workmanship in all upholstery tasks.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in upholstery materials and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer, preferably in the aviation or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of upholstery materials, sewing techniques, and industrial sewing machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail for precision work.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards in upholstery manufacturing.
- Certification in upholstery or related field is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
