Job Brief
As an Air Valve Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical regulating and controlling devices, including electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, safety and flow valves, and other mechanical governors. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in valve mechanics and a strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, ensuring optimal functionality and safety standards in various applications.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain air valves and associated mechanical devices.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on valve systems to ensure efficient operation.
- Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to develop and implement system improvements.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of equipment performance.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff and other team members as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements in valve technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Air Valve Mechanic or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including valve types and applications.
- Technical certification in mechanical maintenance or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to valve maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
