Job Brief

As an Air Traffic Control Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within assigned airspace and on the ground at airports. This role requires a strong understanding of aviation regulations, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ideal candidates will have experience in air traffic management and possess the necessary certifications to operate within the air traffic control system.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and direct aircraft movements on the ground and in the airspace using radar and other navigational aids.
  • Authorize and regulate commercial airline flights according to established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Communicate clear instructions to pilots regarding takeoffs, landings, and in-flight maneuvers.
  • Coordinate with other air traffic control centers to manage altitude sectors and ensure seamless air traffic flow.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in flight plans, implementing contingency measures as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of flight data and communications for operational and safety purposes.
  • Provide information to pilots about weather conditions, runway closures, and other critical updates.
  • Participate in training programs and ongoing professional development to stay current with aviation regulations and technologies.

Requirements

  • Valid air traffic control certification from an accredited authority.
  • Proven experience in air traffic management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety protocols, and air traffic control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with pilots and ground crew.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using radar systems, communication equipment, and other air traffic control technologies.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
